A Fungus Among Us

This is Ruby Two, who was perfectly healthy when he came to live here a little over a week ago.  Problem is the Ruby One died in this water and was there for a couple of hours and passed on the fungus he died from.  I have been treating Ruby Two since 2 days after getting him.  Tomorrow, full water change and boiling everything in the tank, as it seems the fish is getting worse instead of better.  We don't want to break Cole's heart as he is in love with "Ruby"

Cole & Nana Watching Youtube Train Video

One of Cole's favorite pass times with me is picking out train video's to watch online.  He sits beside me and points to the one he wants to watch.  Today, for a brief period of time, we moved onto Cars videos on the computer, which in movie form will hold his attention with Grandpy. We then watched monster trucks videos very briefly.  I would say over all though, the trains came in first place.  LOL

 I couldn't make up my mind which picture to post of the many I took today.  Since I missed posting a picture yesterday, I decided to post two of my favorites from today.

So, what do you see in this picture?

Well, here they are walking across the road in front of my car.  There were a good 15 or so of these wild turkeys in front of their buddies that have already gone into the woods up a head of them.

Yes, it is the "Winter" season. It is only 38 degrees out tonight and a few flakes of snow fell as a tease to us today.

A Bad Picture of my Really Big Bear

This is "Big Bear" wearing a pink hat that say's Shmily.  "Big Bear is also sporting a tag sitting on his rather rotund tummy that say's "Happy Valentine"s Day, Shmily.

Sir, gave me my Valentine's Day gifts early.  I received the hat yesterday. 

"Big Bear," was given to me today.  Just to let you know, "Big Bear" is not just any ordinary bear, he is 4 1/2 ft. tall and weighs approximately 11 pounds.  Boy is he cuddly.

If you're curious, "Shmily" is something very special between Sir and I; it means:  "See how much I love you."

after looking at this picture I'm thinking, my time would have been better spent, dusting my car and cleaning the rear view mirror while I was waiting for Nikki to come out of the store...LOL...Funny what the flash on a camera will point out.

Light From The Night

What you may not know about me,

is that I have a great interest in Amish folk.  Over the past month or so I have spent many hours scouring websites and blogs to find out how "the plain" live.  I have always wanted to visit Lancaster PA, drawn there by "old order" Amish; never truly knowing why.  I am finding that there is so much more to know about Amish districts and those that belong to the Amish Mennonite church; the lives of  former Amish individuals that have chosen to leave, even with the knowledge that they will be shunned by their family and other community members. 

I have become a material girl in this common world of ours with all the electronic toys it has to offer.  My favorite time was after a storm this past summer we were without electricity from the grid for almost a week, but yet we  bought a generator and found ways to charge all the toys...aaahhh the quiet in the night was wonderful with the exception of it being broken by the sounds of generators throughout the neighborhood.

If all your electronic toys were taken away, "do you" know how you would survive first mentally? and second physically?

A few minutes ago; after a bought with fear, I mustered the courage to even be able to touch the toaster oven. This is even after it has been in the trash for nigh going on 24 hours now.

The piece of plastic, top; rear on the toaster oven, is the melted handle that came off in my hand, moving the oven in order to photograph it.

Happy Thoughts

There was a picture that I could have taken today of the remains of a toaster oven that went up in flames, but alas, for some reason could not bring myself to take the picture of it's remains.  Don't worry, everyone's fine and so is our home, just my own hang up is all.  Soooooo, today's picture is my "happy thought" for today.  I took this picture at the Boston Museum of Science this past late summer when on a field trip with Nikki.

Thank you, Sir, for bringing so much balance into my life.

Up until tonight, my photos have been done either with an I-touch generation 4 or my HTC EVO Android, Cell Phone.  I welcome back my long lost friend, Sony Cyber Shot; the model number escapes me at the moment.  To speak to the Sony, yes, it is point and shoot, but has soooo many other features as well.  In the future I am aspiring to use an SLR.
